The $0.99 Deal That... Wasn’t Quite

When I first set up a Kindle Deal for The Order of the Sacred Vow, I was genuinely excited. I’d timed it for June 1–8, eager to give readers a full week to discover Portia’s story at just $0.99. It felt like a generous re-introduction of the novella’s new edition. But here’s what happened—and what I’ve learned.

🔹 The Mistake:
I accidentally left the “incremental pricing” option checked—the one that automatically raises the book price each day of the promo. I only checked the price on Day 1, saw it was $0.99, and assumed all was well.

By the end of the deal, the price had crept back up close to its original. Some readers missed the offer entirely. And that’s on me.

🔹 The Lesson:
Double-check your settings, every day if needed. Just because a deal starts right doesn’t mean it’ll stay that way without supervision.

🔹 To My Readers:
I’m so sorry if you missed out on the promo. This was my first time using Amazon’s Countdown Deal feature, and clearly, I didn’t get it right. But I will try again—with a better setup and more active oversight. The next time I run a deal, it’ll be a true $0.99 experience for everyone, start to finish.

And if you’re an indie author navigating the wild west of Amazon marketing? Learn from me: read the fine print, monitor your deal daily, and keep your readers in the loop.

Thank you for your patience—and for continuing to dream with me in the world of Amorphya.
